Quality and safety are absolute top priorities at Interstream Barging. We have implemented this policy spearhead in all our business processes and activities. We see safety management as a continuous process. We have a team of internal specialists active in the following areas:

  • monitoring and increasing safety levels
  • ship inspections
  • advising clients on the safe transhipment and transport of hazardous goods
  • advising private ship owners
  • incident investigations, including reports
  • organizing education and training. Internally and externally
  • Legal function safety advisor

ISO-certified
Interstream Barging is ISO-certified (9001:2008). Procedures, instructions and reportings are recorded and followed up in an automated quality system. Our barges are manned by qualified personnel. On a regular basis we provide education and training programmes regarding Safety, Health & Environment. Via its shareholder Argos Groep, Interstream Barging can also call upon broad knowledge and support regarding terminal operations and product controls.

Knowledge sharing
Our internal specialists act as a centre of expertise about legislation, product characteristics, technical innovations and developments on a European level. This knowledge is backed up by membership of and participation in (international) committees and organisations representing the inland shipping. We recognise the importance of sharing this knowledge with our customers and affiliated ship owners.
