Interstream Barging is one of the largest barge charterers in Europe. From the Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg and Switzerland, ISB with more than 120 inland tankers offers its customers a safe and sustainable transport of liquid chemicals and mineral and edible oils.
About 900 specialists, from sailors to captains, work on board the ships, 175 of them on our 25 own vessels. About 65 specialists work in the shore organization in areas ranging from Sales to IT and from Safety Management to Human Resources.
For our modern, mineral ships, operated from Switzerland, we are looking for experienced
Captains and Skippers
The sailing area of the vessels ranges from Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp to Germany, Switzerland and northern France. The ships sail alternately semi-continuous or full-continuous. In principle, the crew rotates 3 weeks on and 3 weeks off. Other sailing systems are negotiable. Crew changes take place on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.
You work on board in a small team where you are responsible for the ship and crew and for the safe and efficient transportation of liquid cargo, in close cooperation with our specialists at our offices in Zug and Sliedrecht. They will support you 24 hours a day with operational, nautical and technical problems.
We are looking for captains and skippers who have experience in transporting mineral oils on the Rhine and in the ARA area and have the necessary diplomas and certificates. You must have the knowledge and experience to sail (or be allowed to sail) independently at least as far as Mannheim.
You are familiar with safety and legal regulations, solution-oriented, flexible and a team player.
